The Break with the Most Bang for Your Buck

Since scientific research has unequivocally shown that vacationing provides a direct path towards healthier physical and mental living, a lot of hard-working men and women now make it a point to venture out, see the world, and relax more frequently whenever possible. Some people still struggle to fit a proper holiday into their busy schedules, however, and a good majority of the time finances play a major part in preventing individuals and families from putting a hold on their demanding workload and taking a step back for a little breathing room.

Fortunately for the overly ambitious and financially-wary, companies like Preferred Guest Resorts are available to take away costly woes of vacationing and put some freedom back into your lifestyle.

Preferred Guest Resorts (PGR) works in conjunction with a number of other companies to make affordable vacations a more tangible component of working professionals’ lifestyles. The company has representatives at seemingly every corner of the globe: from Singapore to Spain and Australia to Brazil, travel seekers across the map can contact their respective PGR consultant and start planning their dream vacation package at a fraction of the cost most travelers would find themselves paying.

Say your kids have been hearing stories about their local friends’ outing to Walt Disney World and have been hounding you about a similar vacation ever since. Now, depending on their location, a lot of parents would probably do the numbers and realize this could potentially reach thousands of dollars in travel and lodging costs – not to mention entertainment expenses as well.

Luckily PGR has a number of partnerships with holiday household names (Walt Disney World Resort being one of them), and qualifying guests can receive free accommodations for 4 days and 3 nights in Orlando, plus 3 days and 2 nights in Daytona Beach when they rent a car through PGR (likely with partnering affiliates like Alamo, Enterprise, or National car rental companies). Guests simply have to attend a fun, educational and interactive 90-minute presentation by a representative of the company sponsoring the promotional vacation.

Probably sounds easy, cost-effective, and overall an enjoyable experience because it actually is.

To learn more about Preferred Guest Resorts and the many exclusive vacation ownership packages they have to offer their customers at highly-coveted vacation destinations, visit their website today and map your path towards a healthier and more rewarding holiday-filled lifestyle.

There's more to Orlando, Florida, than expensive theme parks: the “City Beautiful” has events, attractions, and venues the whole family can enjoy for free. The following are some great, budget-friendly options for families with children.

The Lego Imagination Center in Downtown Disney Marketplace is a must for Lego-lovers of all ages. Kids can have fun looking at life-size Lego figures of cartoon characters and superheroes. They can also play on the jungle gym or build their own Lego race cars and race them down a ramp. Inside the center, children can create their own Lego masterpieces at Lego building stations, all for free.

Disney's Boardwalk was designed to evoke the feel of 1940s boardwalks like Coney Island and Cape May. The promenade is full of interesting shops and quaint restaurants. The best part about the boardwalk, however, is the free entertainment. Jugglers, fire-eaters, and jazz musicians stroll around and perform for guests every night. An added plus is that the boardwalk often has vendors that sell inexpensive snacks and treats like hotdogs and saltwater taffy in case the little ones get hungry.

Disney's Polynesian Resort offers free, short hula lessons every day. The classes are taught by Auntie Kaui, who has had 50 years of experience in hula dancing. Children are welcome at the lobby on weekdays at 3:45 pm, while hula lessons for all ages are available on weekends.

While technically not in Orlando, Black Hammock Adventures is near enough to be easily accessible by city-bound guests. Black Hammock Adventures offers a wildlife exhibit to walk-in guests for free. Children and adults alike will enjoy seeing Black Hammock Adventures' resident mascot, a 12 foot long alligator, and his smaller reptile friends. On Sunday afternoons, children can watch trainers feed Hammy. Other animals in the park include blue and gold macaws and a ball python named, “Squishy.”

Disney Marketplace has interactive fountains where children can have fun splashing about in the water. The largest fountain is near the entrance, and smaller fountains can be found throughout the Marketplace.

Orlando also has free festivals for kids and adults throughout the year, and riding the monorail and ferries to and from locations within Disney World is free, as well.
